for the longest time, i really had been dreaming about being a musician, a producer, an artist. but at some point… i convinced myself that that dream wasn’t attainable because i was embarrassed and shameful of who i was and how i was. I didn’t want others to look at me, see me. I’d shy away when i brought attention and was also so… resentful when others didn’t give me the attention and understanding i also so desperately wanted.
this website and my pursuit of music and artistry is for me as much as it’s for anybody else fearful of being seen, fearful of their own alignment and power, fearful of trying something new, fearful of making mistakes, learning the process of what it all means and what it takes to be strong in their craft, and wanting to have fun all while doing it. thank you for reading this. thank you for tuning in. thank you for your support and well wishes.
ken (they/them) grew up in unceded Duwamish and Muckleshoot territory (south puget sound wa) and is now living in unceded Huichin territory (bay area ca). they are a queer, genderqueer, Indigenous/mexican/yt multiracial, audhd person who grew up playing the clarinet, going to live shows, and burning cds with their dad. they took a break from art and music to get their doctorate in clinical psychology. they recently became a radio dj at psyched! radio sf and have their own radio show called office hours that airs live sunday afternoons. they look forward to practicing their clarinet and dj-ing on their “baby board,” and hope to be accepted into a music fellowship to learn more about producing and making music. they also hope to have a ‘music room’ at home with a cello, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and bass guitar in the future.
